I review Max Brooks' post-apocalyptic undead how-to manual, The Zombie Survival Guide.

Really enjoyed the episode Erick! I really enjoyed the review, as I saw this book at Barnes and Noble and it really looked interesting, to the point where I was actually considering buying it. I think I'll take your word on this one though...haha.

I'm sure you've seen the movie, I am Legend starring Will Smith, which I thought was horrible compared to the book written by Richard Matheson. Not exactly about zombies (vampires actually) but the vampires in the book and movie remind me more of zombies than actual vampires. Anyways, unfortunately I haven't been able to read many books more for my pleasure recently, however, this video reminded me of I am Legend, which I had read a couple of years ago and really enjoyed. If you haven't read it, you definitely should, I think it is one of the most influential books to the vampire genre, up there with Stoker's Dracula.

And to answer your question, I would probably want to hole up in a heavily barricaded military base with a high up watchtower (kind of like 28 Days Later, mostly so the zombies could be kept at bay), I would probably some sort of machine gun as a primary weapon and a sharp hunting knife as a secondary (so when the zombies are trying to break through the barricade, I could conserve ammo).

Keep up the great work, I really enjoy these videos!

Thanks Eric. I'm really happy you've enjoyed these videos. It really means a lot to me. I have read I Am Legend, but I'm about due to give it another look. The movie was terrible, in my opinion, so we're in complete agreement there. Those were some of the worst CGI "vampires" I've ever seen. Definitely don't waste your time on this book. It's a total pass. Especially if you're a busy guy (which I know you are), there's plenty of better stuff out there if you're looking for quality pleasure reading.
